Pepperl Fuchs KFD2-HMM-16
Pepperl Fuchs KFD2-HMM-16
The KFD2-HMM-16 is a 16-channel HART Multiplexer Master module from Pepperl+Fuchs' K-System. It serves as the central communication hub for accessing HART digital data from up to 256 analog field instruments without interrupting the 4–20 mA analog signal loop.
16 channels – Each master module supports up to 16 analog field instruments
Scalable system – Up to 15 KFD0-HMS-16 slave units can be connected to a single master, enabling up to 256 HART devices per system
24 V DC supply – Supports Power Rail for convenient DIN-rail power distribution
HART compatibility – Supports HART revision 5 to 7 field devices
Functional Safety – Certified for applications up to SIL 3 per IEC/EN 61508
The KFD2-HMM-16 operates as the primary module, with a built-in slave unit handling the first 16 instruments.
Up to 15 additional slave modules (KFD0-HMS-16) connect via a 14-pin flat cable to expand capacity.
Analog signals connect to termination boards via a 26-pin flat cable for each unit.
Communication to a PC or control system uses an RS-485 2-wire multidrop interface.
